Please do read the information below as it explains how we have arranged our Pilates mat classes this Spring Term 2023.
The Spring term has some different arrangements to the previous term regarding how you can ‘make up’ a class you cannot attend.
Terms, Blocks and One-Off Classes
– Our classes are all booked as 11-week progressively taught terms. When you book, you book for the whole term. This term, you do have the ability to cancel a class 24 hours in advance and book yourself in to a different class, if there is space available. On the ‘Help’ page I will take you through how to do this, in case you get stuck.
– There are six online, one-off Pilates classes, which you can book for individually.
How Classes are Delivered
- Hybrid Pilates Matclasses: Most of our classes offer in-person and online attendance options for the term.
- Online Only Classes: We have two classes which are online only: Tuesday Dynamic Pilates & Yoga Fusion with Gill Bertram at 5.30-6.30pm & Wednesday General Pilates 6.45-7.45pm with Bea Alexander
- In-Person Only Classes: We have one Small Group class which have no online-attendance, so the focus of the teacher is entirely in the room.: Monday Lunchtime General Pilates Small Group Class at Blue Morpho 36A Broughton Street, 12.30pm, with Gill Bertram.
- To Book for In-Person Matclasses: book from the In-Person Pilates Spring 2023 page of the website. This gives you an in-person space at the venue every week.
- To Book for Live Online Matclasses: book from the Live Online Pilates Mat Spring 2023 page of the website. This means you will attend online for the whole of your term or block.
Pilates Equipment you need for class
Due to hygiene precautions since the pandemic, you need to bring your own Pilates equipment to class. You will also need these pieces of equipment at home: 1 exercise mat, 1 medium resistance exercise band, 1 small squashy Pilates ball, and exercise blocks for propping if you know you need them to sit on. Bea’s Monday Advanced Pilates at 7.30pm and Wednesday 6.45-7.45pm General class online asks you to have a full length foam roller.
Terms and Conditions of Online Attendance
- If you are late for Your Online Class: we do out best to notice people appearing in the waiting room and let in latecomers. We cannot guarantee this will happen, especially if you are more than ten minutes late. We have to concentrate hard, managing the people in the room and online, and do not always glance at the waiting room. We cannot give you extra make-up classes for lateness but you can use one of your allocated courtesy ones.
- Zoom Links for Those of You Online: are given to you in the auto-confirmation email sent to you the moment you have booked a class. The links stays the same for the term or block. Yes, you may notice they are also the same as the links for the class last term.
- Always check your spam/junk box if you have not received it. We cannot send out the link each week to you in the auto-reminders as these are generic. Store it somewhere safe. If you lose it, please ask for Bea to send it to you again manually at least 24 hours in advance of your class as Bea teaches and is in the office sporadically. Thank you.
- WiFi Problems – Ours: If we have wifi problems lasting more than fifteen minutes and cannot get you back we will of course give you access to another class to make up for it. We will know that they are our problems because we will not have any of you being able to log in or will lose you all.
- WiFi Problems – Yours: we will try to let you back in a couple of times, but if it gets more than this, it can prove disruptive for the rest of the class and we can’t continue to keep re-admitting you. You can use a courtesy make up class if this happens but we cannot give you ‘extra’ ones if this happens, you can use your allocated number.
‘Making-Up’ Class Facility:
Is different this term. When you book your class (es) this term, please select the option to attend ‘ from this date forward’, so you are automatically booked in to each class of your term.
However, this term, you can go in to ‘My Schedule’ in your MINDBODY account and next to a class you are due to attend, click on ‘cancel’ and it will cancel your attendance for that class. For example, if you know you will be away on the 9th of May, you can click ‘cancel’ next to that class. You can then book yourself in to a different class any time during the term, with the proviso that it is a suitable level for you, and there is space. To do this you just click on the date of the class you wish to attend within that classes booking point, and it will book you in without charging you anything else, if you have done your cancellation.
PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS IMMEDIATELY YOU BOOK OR YOU WILL BE BLOCKING PEOPLE FROM BOOKING A WHOLE TERM. Only do this once the term has started, thank you, or I will not be able to run this method of making up classes
I have put clear instructions about how to do this on the ‘Help’ page. As soon as you see it in action, you realise it is very simple to do.
This system means you do need to cancel a class 24 hours or more in advance of attendance to then be able to use that money to book yourself in to a different class. You can book in to a different class any time up to an hour before the class, as long as there is space. You can change between online and in-person as long as you cancel the other booking 24 hours or more in advance.
This system is designed to give you more flexibility if you know you are away or need to be online or in-person for a specific class. However it does mean, if you forget to book out of a class less than 24 hours in advance, or you are suddenly ill or can’t attend, you do not get to spend that money again.
If you book in to a one-off, ‘make up’ class of an online class, once you do this you will be sent the auto-email which will give you the Zoom link for the class. Please keep a track of your Zoom links.
Terms and Conditions of Booking
- All booking must be done online unless you have a disability, no access to the internet etc. Do email Bea if this is the case or text on 07951 686322. Bea is very happy to help. Email Bea before booking to get help if you are unsure of anything. Do read the help with booking using MINDBODY instructions first as these might answer your questions and talk you through the booking process!
- There is a £30 administration fee for Bea changing your booking, as classes are officially non-changeable. If you booked in to the ‘wrong’ class for yourself or if you book someone else in to the ‘wrong’ class, we do now need to charge you to change the class, so Bea gets paid for her admin time.
- All class terms and individual classes are non-refundable in all circumstances, including illness. We are fully sympathetic, but we need to have this policy to be able to run the classes, paying for the venues etc. Thank you for understanding.
- Officially all classes are non-changeable once booked, but if you do ask whether you can change to a different class during the term or ask to join late, we might be able to do this, but would charge you the £30 admin fee to cover the extra costs of this work.
- The classes are booked as a term and block, so we can run progressively taught classes. We have to pay for the room hire, booking software, teachers etc so we need to gaurantee we are able to do this all of the term. If you ask not to have to pay for part of a term, we might then not be able to run a class. See the info below about our occasional special offers for joining late. We thank you for your understanding about how small businesses can continue to run.
- We do run some special offers sometimes for people joining late, and of course with these offers there is no £30 admin fee as we have chosen to offer this to you. Such offers are sent to you via email and put on the facebook page.
- If a teacher is off sick, we will either have another teacher cover the class, or in extreme emergencies we will cancel the class. We reserve the right not to notify you in advance of a change of teacher, although we will always try to. They will always be a qualified Pilates teacher – usually one of us!. If we have to cancel a class, we will email you as soon as we know we have to. Please do check your emails regularly just in case. We do also leave phone messages on phones too, so also do check your phone.
- If we have to cancel a class, you will be given an alternative class to make up in; offered either online or an in-person space in another class, during that term. If you cannot do either of these options, as there is no other class which suits you time-wise, we will give you a refund for that class by the end of the term. Thank you for your understanding.
We appreciate your support with these terms and conditions so we can run classes.
